Giant Clam Poaching Wipes Out Critical Reefs


China’s ambitions in the South China Sea are leading to environmental destruction in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions. Most of the focus has been on China’s island-building activities, but Chinese fishermen’s poaching of giant clams has destroyed far more of the South China Sea’s reefs.
